We are a full-service junk removal company located in Oakland, California, and servicing Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Emeryville, San Leandro, and other nearby Bay Area communities. The business was started in 2001, by East Bay native and longtime Oakland resident Kevin Torrey. Kevin’s original name for the company was “Haulin’ Oates”, but rather than saddle the fledgling operation with potential brand confusion and a dated music reference, he eventually decided on “American Hauling”. But make no mistake: we’re local to the core. We are your neighborhood independent junk removal professionals, here to help you get rid of unwanted stuff. And we know the Bay Area in and out, so if we can’t help you, we’ll let you know who can.

Recycling
We recycle and donate reusable items whenever possible, qualifying for all recycling programs including Green Halo certification.
Demolition
We do light demolition (kitchens, floors, decks, patios, or other non-structural framing) if your stuff needs demo before it’s hauled away.
